Beloved Denman ART Studio Tour Returns August 15–16,
Showcasing 27 Artists Across 20 Island Studios
Denman Island, BC — August 2026 — The beloved Denman ART Studio Tour returns this summer on August 15 and 16, inviting visitors to explore the island’s rich creative landscape. Running daily from 10 am to 5 pm, this self‑guided tour features 20 open studios and the work of 27 artists, offering an intimate look into one of the most vibrant arts communities in the region.
Tour maps are available at the Hornby Farmers’ Market info booth and at the Denman Island Arts Centre, guiding guests to studios nestled in forests, gardens, shorelines, and village spaces.
🎨 A Diverse and Inspiring Artist Lineup
Visitors will encounter an extraordinary range of mediums and artistic voices, including:
Bente Pilgaard — Abstract acrylic and mixed‑media works blending Danish minimalism with Italian zest for life at Studio B.
Henning Nielsen — Lathe‑turned bowls, platters, and boxes shaped by a lifetime in architecture, design, and Danish craft culture.
Bentley Le Baron — A posthumous tribute featuring sculptures, paintings, clay works, and his beloved “magical beasts and fanciful critters.”
Bev Severn — Functional and sculptural ceramics inspired by nature and myth.
Tina Street — Woodland‑woven nests created from natural materials gathered around her forest studio.
Bonnie Snair — Stained glass framed in driftwood and barnboard, capturing the glow of sunrises and sunsets.
Jenn Gosse — Multimedia works including glow‑in‑the‑dark goddess moons.
Cathy Albrecht — Upcycled, repurposed, and reimagined works that “never end up what they started out as.”
Sam Albrecht — Printed, upholstered, and wood‑and‑metal creations.
Christine O’Neill — Fibres, felting, and upcycled clothing inspired by play.
Dakota Burpee — Handwoven textiles and natural‑dye garments.
Doug Burpee — Mixed‑media furniture, lighting, and sculpture incorporating “flawed or broken” materials.
Fire Weed — Interpretive photographic and mixed‑media works often beginning with sculptural forms made from brightly coloured seaweed.
Francesca Barker (Tachi) — Contemporary mixed‑media landscapes and abstract collages.
Gordon Hutchens — Renowned pottery ranging from functional ware to museum‑quality ceramics.
Jayne Fogarty & Peter Smallwood — Watercolour, acrylic, lino cuts, textiles, and woodworking at Ledgewood Studio.
Katarina Meglic — Contemporary mixed‑media paintings informed by international study and travel.
Linda Adair — Painting, stained glass, mosaics, and ceramics.
Megan Rose (Island Kraftwerk) — Beeswax candles, linoprints, and Art Deco jewellery.
