19. Bev Severn - The Labyrinth and Sanctuary at the United Church
Studio location: 4575 Denman Road
"I enjoy making functional and sculptural work in clay and am inspired by nature and mythical and imaginary worlds. I make a range of coloured glazes/which I use to decorate my work."
"I came to Canada in 1983. I’d got an Arts Degree in England and had worked as a high school art teacher and a supervisor with a Community Arts Program.
I found my home on Denman Island with my five year old daughter, Alana.
I gradually built up my pottery business, selling my work as a consignor to a dozen craft stores on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver. I’m a founding member of the Denman Island craft shop and am now in my 33rd year in the store!"
