Studio location: Abraxas Books, Arts, Gifts and Café - 1071C Northwest Rd

Mixed media contemporary acrylic landscape paintings on canvas and abstract collages,

paintings, drawings on wood panels and bound sketchbooks.

"I have lived here on the Island for 40 plus years. My art is influenced and inspired by the natural environment of the Island and how the environment is shaped by people. My primary work is mixed media landscape paintings. I have been painting with acrylics for over 30 years."

During the 2026 studio tour, Francesca will display the newest abstract paintings that spring from the impulse of pattern, color theory, curious mark making and collage. The  abstracts are highly patterned watercolor mixed  media that are visually textured expressions of rhythm and spontaneity. Think fabric and poetry mixed!

Francesca attended North Island College fine arts program in the 2000’s and furthered her studies after being selected to attend Emily Carr University on a full scholarship from the Audain society.

"I have largely shown and sold my art on Island at the local galleries and

online. I will be on-site at Abraxas all through the tour to talk art and Island life.

All my work will be for sale."
